German sculptor Angela Glajcar designed tunnels of light made from white paper for an exhibition in Munich’s Heitsch Gallery. The paper tunnel sculptures consist of layered paper sheets, each with a gaping hole was torn in it, which together produce a tunnel-like effect. Named “Weiß ist das Neue Schwarz”, or “White is the new black”, the work is a search of the contrast between dark and light, as well as the contemporaneous fragility and strength of this often-underrated material.
