Anxiety is not nice. It’s the contrast of cool since it wreaks havoc on your life with nervousness. But artist Gemma Correll is fighting back with her anxiety comics. Her illustrations range from simple to complex Her color palette is pleasingly minimal, and her humor is spot on, even for people with orderly anxieties.
“I honestly think that humour can be a saviour at times of distress or if you just live with a constant level of anxiety and depression as I do,” said Correll. “I do think that people should speak more freely about anxiety. I know that I would have felt a little better as an anxiety-ridden teenager if I knew that I wasn’t entirely alone in my fears.”
Correll also draws several other comics, including the excellent monthly Skycats for the Emirates Airlines Open Skies magazine.
