Hann explains, “I try to make good decisions as I shoot and avoid wading through huge amounts of images on my computer when I get home.” He simplifies by sticking to one fixed lens and film stock.
Initially favoring black-and-white, Hann found color photography challenging yet eventually rewarding. “I could do it but struggled to make the color photos special or make them feel like my own,” he notes. Now, color’s emotional depth and variability are central to his work.
