Floral Street Installations by Raquel Rodrigo

by Archie Hayes 2016-09-24, 4:56 PMupdated 2021-09-21, 6:06 PM

Set designer and artist Raquel Rodrigo brings the macro features of cross-stitch embroidery to building facades around Madrid. Her vivid installations are prepared previously with enlarged cross-stitch techniques using thick string wrapped on wire mesh before each is unrolled and affixed to a surface. The decorative pieces create an enjoyable, pixelated texture that looks completely different close up versus at a distance.
