The Infinitely Layered Metal Sculptures of Japanese Artist Taiichiro Yoshida

Taiichiro Yoshida is a Japanese artist who creates copper, bronze, and silver sculptures, spending between two and six months on each work. His sculptures are finely detailed, with textures and impressions that make them look like they came from the future. The delicate components dance across the form, or as is the case with “The Dog in the Night Fog,” they seem like a hundred butterflies about to take off when wrapped around an armature of a dog, chick, or stuffed teddy bear. On his website, you’ll find a more extensive selection of Yoshida’s wrought sculptures.
