Illustrator and animator Nicolas Monterrat have brought his wild imagination to historical photographs and artworks that he puts in motion and shares on Ello. The short GIFs mix images borrowed from older catalogs, newspapers, and textbooks using snippets of images that are abstract to create collage-like pictures which vary from amusing to downright frightening. You can follow more from the Paris-based artist on Tumblr.
