A remarkable Napa Bistro Charlotte transformation has taken place in Charlotte, North Carolina, as a former taco spot emerges as the Napa Bistro and Wine Bar Stonecrest. Inspired by the 1976 Paris Wine Tasting, this establishment brings together the charm of a French bistro and the elegance of a Napa Valley farmhouse. The design, courtesy of FictionWorks, embraces both style and substance.

An Elegant Design Journey
FictionWorks co-founders Andrea De Camps and Olivia King aimed to create a venue catering to both casual diners and those celebrating special occasions. The architecture by In Situ Studio spans 6,500 square feet, featuring a series of interconnected rooms with unique identities. A vaulted ceiling enhanced by Baswa Acoustics improves acoustics and adds architectural rhythm, which underscores the essence of the venue’s transformation.

Faced with the challenge of redeveloping an existing structure, the design team transformed the former flat layout into a warm, inviting space reminiscent of a Napa farmhouse, completing the renovation in under nine months. This redesign showcases key features like custom lighting, stained-glass installations, and carefully crafted millwork. Budget-conscious choices in secondary elements ensured impactful investments where they mattered most, a hallmark of effective restaurant renovation.

FictionWorks incorporated vibrant colors and textures, drawing on Napa Valley’s lush vineyards and 1970s interior warmth. This transformation includes a palette of deep greens, warm woods, amber, and bronze, conveying richness and sophistication. Daltile’s black-and-white tiles create a striking mosaic contrast against natural materials.

The decision-making process integrated thoughtful interior design from architecture to the artwork. The team ensured each element enhanced the dining experience, offering a deeper appreciation of food and wine. The stained-glass features, crafted from hand-blown rondels, echo 1970s glasswork and wine bottles, while curated lights and artwork link the venue to its local roots, further emphasizing their unique transformation.

Napa Bistro’s identity builds on a historic global wine competition that reshaped perceptions of California wines. For FictionWorks, this spirit of renewal is evident in every design choice, honoring history while reimagining it through this sophisticated project.

With each detail meticulously crafted, Napa Bistro and Wine Bar Stonecrest stands as an elegant venue celebrating bold design and culinary delights.
