Gunter & Co’s approach
Gunter & Co specialises in full house renovations and refurbishments, including projects such as this one. The studio says its spaces are original, colourful and luxurious while remaining relaxed and firmly rooted in practicality and purpose. It also says it creates homes that can be truly lived in, not just show homes.
The façade
Connaught House has a white stucco façade. The studio’s material for the building is the same white stucco that defines its street presence.
Blending period character with modern living is a theme worth exploring further. Ideas for Bringing Classic Style Into Modern Homes offers practical tips for achieving that balance.
Working with clients
The team gets to know clients on a personal level to understand how they live, their values and their priorities. The studio says its favourite projects come from working hand-in-hand with clients, not just for them. It works with an extensive network of accomplished craftsmen and suppliers across the globe.
The creation of Connaught House brought together a hand-selected team of designers, architects and craftsmen. They shared a vision to reimagine the landmark for a new era. Every element of the project has been meticulously considered and expertly executed.
Five residences
The connaught house residences comprise five homes. Each is entirely unique, shaped by the building’s heritage architecture. The homes have 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms. Each one was planned to offer a sense of space, balance and refinement, where period character meets contemporary comfort.
The team behind the Connaught House project
Irene founded Gunter & Co in 2014. Ian joined in 2017 to head up project implementation and operations. Valouran describes itself as a pioneering property developer and placemaker. It combines passion for design and deep financial expertise with knowledge of the residential market.
The studio’s wider work
Gunter & Co describes itself as an international interior architecture and design studio. Its work ranges from London townhouses to New York brownstones, luxury villas and Cotswold country estates. The studio designs, renovates and refurbishes large-scale townhouses, country estates and luxury villas around the world. It says homes become a reflection of their occupants, inspired by their travels, passions and inspirations. It treats each project as if it were its own home, and it loves to share its designs to inspire others with their own projects.
These residences stand as a distinguished local landmark. They sit within one of London’s most prestigious residential enclaves.
Renovating heritage homes in prestigious enclaves takes similar care. Luigi Rosselli’s Bellevue Hill Home Revitalization shows how a 1963 house gains new life with bold materials.
The building was created in 1841. Its elegant white-stucco façade has captivated admirers since that time.
