Traveling by air can be a tedious and stressful process if we are not aware of the airline’s baggage requirements and restrictions. It is easy to fall foul of the procedure and we also take care not to include certain prohibited items.

When it comes to hand luggage, airlines will allow passengers to carry a certain amount of baggage into the cabin. Liquids over 100ml are not allowed in your hand luggage and there are various other restrictions, so check with your airline prior to traveling and flight carry on backpack.

A common piece of equipment used to carry baggage on to a flight is a backpack. Backpacks come in a range of sizes and weights and if you are using a backpack for this purpose make sure that it fits in with the airline’s maximum dimensions, each airline has slightly different size requirement so it is best to check with the airlines that you are most likely to be flying with now or in the future before purchasing your backpack so that you don’t fall foul of the rules. Weight is another consideration, your empty backpack will be well within the maximum allowed weight but the lighter the backpack, the more of your own possessions that will fit.

You want to make sure that your backpack has plenty of pockets so that you can organize all of your travel documents separately from all of your other equipment. You want to be able to access your documents easily as you will be asked for them on several occasions prior even to boarding the flight and it would not be appropriate to have to empty a backpack to find them.

When you travel, the chances are that you will be taking some of your expensive equipment, a laptop, a tablet, phone and more than likely some other personal items that may have value. Pickpockets are everywhere and vigilance always has to be employed. It may be worth considering a sturdy anti-theft backpack option. Backpacks can come with hidden zips and lockable compartments and can be made of a material that is resistant to cutting, as many thieves will simply try to cut through the pack. Handles can also be reinforced.

Comfort is going to be another consideration so consider whether you would be more comfortable with a one handle option or a more traditional two handle version. Some people have a preference to be able to wear their backpack to their front.

There is an overwhelming choice of backpacks on the market and it is for the user to make their own personal choice according to their criteria. Style and color can also play a big part. Not all backpacks are equal, the come in different widths, different lengths and have differing numbers of compartments. It is important to try the pack on, preferably with some items in it prior to purchase as different packs will be comfortable for different people.

The easiest backpack for your travels will be the one which feels most comfortable and offers you the storage compartments that you need. Make sure that your pack is within the size and weight guidelines as airlines are now very strict with their requirements.
