This is Murrine. It’s Made of Glass and Can Be Sliced Like a Loaf of Bread

Murrine is the art of layering glass into stretched rods. The art is revealed when the glass is cut into cross sections. Glass artist Loren Stump created this very elaborate murrine revealing an image of the painting Madonna of the Rocks by Leonardo da Vinci. Each component, like a face or a flower, was created as an individual unit of the glass rod and then layered together with molten glass. Get a good look at this full-size picture. Each slice sold for $5,000. It has sold out, although there are some pieces of the individual components still available. -via reddit
