This 279-square-metre haven blends poured-earth walls with concrete, creating an immersive experience defined by its verandahs and open spaces. The retreat serves as both a family getaway and a venue for client meetings.

The farmhouse is designed as a balance of private and communal spaces. Veering from traditional enclosed room designs, the residence focuses on outdoor circulation. The property features a network of shaded pathways, courtyards, and framed views that replace internal corridors, creating fluid movement.
Architecture intertwined with land
Nodecraft Studio reveals its distinctive concept through “pavilions” arranged around existing site trees. These staggered volumes anchor the residence’s harmony with nature. Visitors enter through a central block adjacent to a linear pool, which slopes with the land’s natural incline, part of the uniqueness of the farmhouse.

Thoughtful spatial transitions
With an open-plan design, the central block houses the living, dining, kitchen, and worship areas. Bedrooms, each with private verandahs, are independent yet connected by decks sheltered with overhangs. The farmhouse prominently features walls made using a technique called poured earth, blending site-excavated soil with lime, cement, and aggregates.
