Italian-born artist Valerio D’Ospina has become one of the most notable painters of cityscapes and industrial scenes in America, with a unique style of blurred and splattered paintings that ideally capture the metropolitan pulse of the world’s largest cities.
Born in Taranto in 1980, but now living and working in Philadelphia, Valerio discovered a passion for art during his studies at the prestigious Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence, where he learned the techniques of the great masters under the expert guidance of Professor R.Giovannelli. After gaining further experience in the thriving art scenes of Paris and Florence, Valerio was awarded a professorship at just 27 years old.
Now, he creating cityscape oil paintings with bold streaks, scratches, splatters and washes that mimic the energy and frantic pace of city life. Through his work, his experience of the classics is evident yet there is a contemporary artistic that is original as well as excellent.
